My Kingdom is not of this world | John 18:28-38

The Jewish leaders arrive at the palace of the Roman governor Caiaphas with Jesus early in the morning (v28) But they never enter the residence. The connection is made with Matthew 23:27-28- The Action of The White Washed Tombs. Are there areas of your life where you are like white washed tombs? Cleanliness is not about your religious activities, but what you do with Jesus. How do you treat Jesus? Do you find yourself checking boxes to feel clean? Discuss
Pilate asks Jesus if he is The King of the Jews, and Jesus answers him with a question of his own- Is this your idea or what others are telling you about me? What does Pilate miss in this interaction? Jeremy referenced his upbringing of being raised in a Christian home. If you grew up in the church or spent time in a Christian home, reflect and share when you were confronted with this very same question that Jesus presents to Pilate.
Jeremy gives the example of Einstein and Hawking questioning and searching for the underlying truth to the existence of the universe much like Pilate in asking "What is truth?" Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life and everyone who is of the truth, listens to my voice. What voice are you listening to? What needs to be turned up? What voice needs to be turned down in your life?
