All Things New | Revelation 21-22

Sermon Discussion | Revelation 20&21

As Jeremy mentioned in his sermon, what we will see in the final chapters of Revelation is the celebration is coming, the old order is ending!

1. Read Rev 21:1-5. Jeremy mentioned, the earth will not be done away with, but renewed. God is going to restore creation to its original intent. Is this a new thought for you? Has our study in Revelation changed your understanding of the "end times"? If so, in what ways?

2. There is coming a city that will be the completeness of creation and will inhabit the Lord and his people. It is perfect in every way and will last forever! Read ch. 21:9-27. What about this passage sticks out to you most? What is John trying to communicate to us about this city?...What do you think he means when he says there will be no night and the gates will never be shut? What will be in the city?...what will not be?

3. Read ch. 22 together.

  • We find the tree of life that has been from the beginning is here sitting in the center - providing all we need and bringing healing. What healing are you most looking forward to? What provision is given that we lack now?

  • In this new creation we will be truly human, sin will no longer have a hold on us or taint creation. What will it be like to live in a place filled with truth, honor, selflessness, true love etc? Can you spend time imagining life here?

  • As believers we get to participate in bringing this kingdom now, today! In what way can you bring the kingdom to the world around you? Why would it be important to think of this as something we can do now, not something that awaits us in eternity? How has the church been a preview of what's to come?...where have we failed?

As we wrap up this series in Revelation, take some time to reflect on what you have learned, what has been challenging and how this will impact the way you will live going forward?
